🛠️Maintenance Charges

Keep your Devices and Software Licenses running smoothly with timely maintenance charges. Learn how fees are applied, deducted, and managed to ensure uninterrupted service!

To cover server and infrastructure costs for Devices and Licenses, Homnifi introduces a monthly maintenance charge. This fee, deducted automatically from your wallet, kicks in after a 1-year covered period from purchase.

Who It Applies To

Maintenance charges apply to:

  • All Nodek and CloudK Devices & Licenses with Linked Tokens.

  • Applicable after the 1-year covered period (365 days from purchase).

  • Delivered Devices with reduced maintenance fees.

Note: The 1-year covered period and maintenance charges are separate from the 5-year warranty policy.

Maintenance Fee Basics

Maintenance fees offset backend costs for non-delivered machines. Here’s how they work:

  • Fee Start Date: Charges begin on the 1st of the month following the 1-year anniversary of your device or license purchase.

  • Fee Amount: Varies by type (see table below). No fee is charged if linked tokens $0.

  • Reduced Fees Post-Delivery: Once the device is delivered and connected to the internet, maintenance fees are reduced.

✅ Machines within the 1-year covered period will display info: Maintenance Included | X days remaining.

Deduction Process

Fees are deducted monthly on the 1st, following this logic:

  1. Wallet Hierarchy:

    • Primary: USDK-W Wallet.

    • Secondary: USDK Wallet (if USDK-W has insufficient funds).

  2. Partial Payments: If the full fee can’t be deducted, the system takes the available balance and logs a partial payment.

  3. Prioritization: Machines with higher maintenance fees (e.g., Homnifi Flash) are charged first.

  4. Zero Balance: If both wallets have $0, the fee is marked as unpaid, triggering a 5-day grace period.

🔔 Monitor deductions in the Maintenance Charges section.

Maintenance Charges UI

Access the Maintenance Charges section under the Machines module to view:

  • Total Pending Fees: Sum of all unpaid fees across eligible machines.

1-Year Covered Period

For the first 365 days after purchase:

  • No Fees: Maintenance is included in the purchase price.

  • UI Indicator: A label shows Maintenance Included | X days remaining

🕒 On day 366, the label switches to Maintenance Charges Active.

Grace Period and Suspension

If a fee remains unpaid on the 1st:

  • 5-Day Grace Period: Machine functions normally, but a warning appears:

    • Countdown timer (dd:hh:mm:ss) on the machine card.

    • A reminder text: “Pending maintenance fee. Top up within 5 days to avoid reward suspension.”

  • Post-Grace Period (if unpaid):

    • Status changes to Suspended due to unpaid maintenance fee.

    • Device gets greys out with a Top up wallet to resume rewards label.

    • Base and supernode rewards are disabled.

    • Device is excluded from supernode benefit calculations.

    • Other actions (e.g., linking USDK) remain available if GAS-USDK are present.

Resumption of Rewards

Once the full pending fee is paid:

  • Device resumes base and supernode reward generation.

  • Auto-Compound mode (if previously active) reactivates.

  • No retroactive rewards for the suspension period.

Post-Delivery Behavior

When a Computer Device is marked Delivered and connected to the internet:

  • Maintenance fees are reduced (based on machine type).

  • A banner notifies: “Maintenance fees reduced for this delivered machine.”

Wallet Transaction Records

Every deduction is logged in the wallet history:

  • Full Payment: “Maintenance Fee for Computer Device [Device ID] – [Month, Year]”

  • Partial Payment: “Partial maintenance fee of [X] USDK received; [Y] USDK pending”

  • Failed Deduction: “Maintenance deduction failed – Insufficient wallet balance”

FAQs and Tips

1. When do fees start?

On the 1st of the month after the 1-year covered period ends.

2. What if my wallet has insufficient funds?
